The school's intranet consists of more than 15,000 files spread across over 6000 pages and grouped into 25 different websites. This mind-boggling amount of information is organised and maintained by a staff-student team called RuseID (Ruse Intranet Development).

Launched in 2010, the group has expanded the entire school's use of technology on a day-to-day basis. This has been particularly focused on pioneering the use of Google Apps (especially Sites, Drive and Apps Script) in a school environment, an initiative that played a major role in the adoption of Google Apps as software officially supported by the Department of Education and Communities.

The group meets regularly face-to-face, but also carries out a significant portion of its organisation and communication through online means. Its consistent goal is to serve the James Ruse community by making the intranet a useful and usable part of the school's information ecosystem.
