Stage 5: Years 9-10

The Year 9 and 10 Common Course

All students in Stage 5 study the following subjects:

English
Mathematics
Science
Agriculture
Computer Studies
Careers Education
Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
Sport

In addition, students select three additional subjects, at least one of which must be History or Geography. Students then make additional choice(s) from the following:

Commerce
History Elective
Visual Arts
Design and Technology
Drama
French
Japanese
Latin
Music
Physical Activity and Sport Science
PDHPE Preliminary*
Information Processes & Technology*
Software Design & Development*
Other subjects which are found necessary by students, staff and parents.

All Year 10 Agriculture students are accelerated and may sit for the HSC Exam in Agriculture at the end of Year 11.

* SDD and IPT are Stage 6 courses that are offered in Year 9 and sat for as an HSC exam in Year 10. PDHPE Prelim begins in Year 10.
