Welcome back to Term 2, 2016. On Wednesday we commemorated ANZAC Day and once again our Cadets demonstrated superior discipline and dedication. It was an honour to have CAPTAIN Brian Swan OAM (Ret’d) as our guest to inspect the parade and give the ANZAC day address. Congratulations to Cadet Under Officer Daniel Yan for his command of this year’s parade and service. Thank you also to CAPT (AAC) Alan Best, LT (ACC) Bruce McFadyen and 2LT (ACC) Peter Low for their organisation of another successful commemoration.

We welcome three new teachers to our school in Term 2 - Lisa Knight in English, Lauren Silvestro in HSIE and Gilda Stuart in Languages.

On Tuesday many of our Year 12 students were given the opportunity to complete their First Aid Certificate. Thank you to Ms Katrina Jenns for organising this service.

Our musical, Spamalot, was an enormous success late last term. Our students and teachers were incredibly proud of the fabulously witty production they were able to produce. An enormous thank you again to the many staff involved:

Ms Amy Murphy, Mr Jamie Gerlach and Mr Patrick Wong directed the production and the music respectively.  Ms Sophie Belevski and Ms Alicia North sourced the spectacular costumes. Ms Nancy Zhu ensured all props and stage design were under control. Our set and on-screen graphics looked spectacular, particularly our castle towers – thank you Mr Ian Goggin. Ms Ashlee Englefield designed our fabulous graphics and also led the choreography of the production. Hair and makeup was led by Ms Meena Prasad, Ms Adrienne Steele and Ms Natalie Novotni. Ms Liza Mayers ensured all back stage supervision was organised and Mr McFadyen ran front of house. Ms Annetta St Louis stage managed and Ms Joyce Ng was our Producer.

Thank you also to everyone that came along and filled our audiences.

On the first days of the holidays our Duke of Edinburgh students took on their challenging Gold walk in the Blue Mountains, walking the “Six Foot Track”. Thank you to Ms Katrina Jenns, Ms Kaarin McKenzie and Mr Neil Pakes for supervising this important walk.

Also in the school holidays Mr Ian Goggin and Ms Ashlee Englefield gave up their time to take our Visual Arts students on a wonderful excursion to Melbourne. Exposed to many exhibitions and workshops the students had a wonderful time.
