Congratulations to Eva Ge of 7L who participated in the Australian Junior Chess Championships. Eva won the main round and the lightning tournament in the Under 14s Girls’ section.

Congratulations also to our fabulous Quad Schools teams. On Monday our eight teams competing against Baulkham Hills, Penrith and Girraween played exceptionally well to achieve second place. The hours of training and dedication certainly paid off in their wonderful performances. Ria Sinha and Joel Jensen, our Sports Captains were inspirational in leading the organisation of this event. Thank you to Ms Sue Briggs, our Prefect Coordinator and Mr Peter Low who handled much of the organisation of the event. Thank you also to Mr Gerlach, Ms McKenzie, Ms Russell, Mr Driscoll, Mr Ng, Mr Grant and Ms Hameed for coaching the teams.

Everyone had a wonderful time at the Swimming Carnival yesterday. Congratulations to all our swimmers who performed splendidly. Thank you to Mr Low and the PDHPE staff for their organisation of another fabulous carnival.

Last Friday our Prefects conducted the Valentines’ Day Assembly. It was great fun and the whole audience enjoyed the humour, singing and dancing.

Congratulations to Jessica Guo (11) who competed in the NSW Under 20s 5000m Athletic Championships and achieved a fabulous second place.

Thank you to Jan Wang and Mothers club for hosting a wonderful meeting of many parents yesterday. It was fabulous to listen to Stephanie Wu and Tally Zhuo share their HSC experiences and answer so many questions. Once again we are so very thankful to Mothers’ club for donating $15000 towards the air conditioning of two of our labs.

Parking rangers have been visiting the school over the last week. Please do not drive into the school bus bay to drop off your child, please do not do a U-turn in front of the school gates as the fines are very large and the safety of our children is put at risk.

Clothing – Please ensure your child labels all items of clothing. We have tables of lost property on display in the canteen area. Many of the items are new and very costly. We have numerous pairs of reading glasses, shoes and hats. Please ask your child to check through lost property carefully.

Our Year 12 Information Night is on Tuesday 23rd February at 6.30pm. We ask that both parents and students attend. Our ex-student Ruth Fordyce will be our guest speaker and will give invaluable tips on thriving in Year 12.

Thursday 3rd March is our Year 7 Parent Information Night. This evening is specifically for our new parents and begins at 6.30pm.

Thank you to Mrs Hayes and Mrs Haslehust-Smith for organising our High Achievers’ Assembly today. It was lovely to share the success of our very talented year 12 students from last year and also welcome back Tanya Sinha, who provided us with the wisdom of her university career so far.
