posted May 26, 2015, 2:18 AM by Unknown user

Congratulations to all our junior students who have completed their exams. It was impressive to see their calm and mature approach to each exam.

The musical cast and crew are now in the last stages of production. It is looking spectacular. The students would love full audiences on all nights. This wonderful tradition needs to be supported. Year 7 - we would love to see you all! Tickets can be purchased online at

The musical begins at 6.30pm on the three nights of Thursday 28th, Friday 29th and Saturday 30th May.

Next week we will send all parents an email encouraging you to create an account with our new Parent Portal. Instructions will follow later in the newsletter. We will also email all students the directions. We will also text to let parents know that we have sent the email. If you do not receive the email please contact the school via our email account - . The portal will allow parents to check a student’s attendance, explain an absence, access newsletters, print archived reports, edit contact details and book parent teacher night interviews. The new portal will assist us communicate better with families.

It was fabulous this week to watch Year 10 students engage in peer teaching. Divided into groups students taught their peers the skills required to play Ultimate Frisbee. The student-teachers were prepared, clear in their instructions and created engaging activities for the whole class. It was a wonderful display of learning and leadership.

Lunchtimes were also exciting with our girls’ netball teams taking on our basketball boys in a game of Netball. It was great fun for all who watched and played. Thank you to Ms Burgess and Ms Russell for umpiring these games.

The last two weeks highlighted our SRC’s Positivity Weeks with the aim to spread positive thoughts and best wishes to the whole school but particularly students in year 7-10 who were completing their exams.

This week our 2014 Annual School Report was uploaded to our website. The ASR gives a good overview of our school in 2014 and the evaluations we conducted. The new school plan 2015-2017 is also uploaded on our Internet –

Year 7 parent teacher night is coming up soon – parents will be sent details in emails this week – access will be through our new parent portal.

The next Mother’s Club Meeting will be held on Thursday 28th May in the Lecture Theatre. Our guest speakers this term are Ms Amy Murphy and Ms Heather Weber. Our next CoJR meeting will be held on June 2nd at the earlier time of 6.30pm in the Lecture Theatre. We have asked a guest speaker to attend from Sydney University and have asked that he speak of scholarships, entry, various courses such as medicine, law and engineering. Year 12 students will not need to attend as we will run a similar session for them during lunchtime after their exams.
