Thank you Assembly and Morning Tea for all helpers will be conducted on Thursday morning 20th November at 8.50am. This event celebrates the wonderful service our parents and friends give to our school. It is so important that our students understand that volunteer work and service is crucial to a flourishing community and many of our parents model this every day. Please come along if you can.

Congratulations to the Class of 2014 who finished their HSC exams last week. After signing off on Monday and Tuesday many students are now enjoying a well earned holiday before their formal on Wednesday 26th November.

Today I had the privilege of watching the Governor of Queensland present 5 Australian Mathematics Competition medals to our very special students – Katrina Shen (7), Hao Chen (7), Haradarshana Kannan (9), Bobby Dey (9) and Karen Gong (11). It is such an honour to witness this distinguished event.

Next Thursday we will hold the Combined Meeting of the CoJR and Mother’s Club in the staff common room at 9.30am. The guest speaker will be Mr Jason Driscoll who has prepared a wonderful presentation on post-school options.

Four students have been selected to attend the Australian Informatics Olympiad School of Excellence. Congratulations to Hayes Choy (8), Winston Gu (10), Steven Liu (9) and Ishraq Huda (11).

Six students have been selected to attend the Australian Mathematical Olympiad School of Excellence. Congratulations to Linus Cooper (8), Adrian Law (9), Katrina Shen (7), Yang Song (11), Kevin Xian (10) and Justin Wu (10).

Combined with our 17 students attending the Science Schools this is an amazing achievement – never in my time at Ruse have we received so many invitations. Congratulations to all the students who have been successful.

Have a wonderful week
