Next week Year 7 and 9 will complete their NAPLAN tests on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Students and parents can find further information on the NAPLAN tests and examples of questions at http://www.nap.edu.au/naplan/naplan.html. All students should familiarise themselves with these tests.
Year 11 have finished their first set of assessment tasks and Years 7 - 10 will do their half–yearly exams in Week 4. I encourage all students to use the exam period as a chance to prepare thoroughly and refine their study skills. Students should ask teachers how best to study for their subjects.
Year 11 will complete their Crossroads program at their 3 day camp on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Thank you to Mrs Karen Johnston, Year 11 Advisor and Mr Peter Low, for the organisation of this camp.
The Community of James Ruse will meet on Tuesday night at 7.45 pm in the Lecture Theatre. The guest speaker at this meeting will be our Head Teacher of Mathematics, Mrs Heather Weber.
Our Prefects and their counterparts at Baulkham Hills, Girraween and Penrith have organised the Quad School Cup to occur next Friday. We wish all our teams well. Last week our Knockout Basketball team won a tight victory over Girraween to progress to the next round.
William Liang (11) and Radman Zhang (12) recently represented Australia in an international badminton competition in Tahiti. William also competed in the June Bevan Trophy Tournament as part of the NSW Thunder U17 team. His team came first for the first time in 31 years. Congratulations.
Jessica Guo (8) recently competed in the NSW Novice Cross Country Championships and was placed third in the Open Women‟s 7 km event. Well done.
