Principal's Report Week 4, Term 4 2012

It is good to be back. Taking leave is certainly re-energising, but James Ruse is such a wonderful place to
be. Thank you to Ms Connors for relieving as principal in my absence. Thank you to all the staff, students
and parents for all the wonderful work achieved in my absence.

HSC A number of students have finished, with the rest completing the HSC next week. The Year 12 Formal
is on Monday night, 12 November.

7 – 10 exams These have been completed successfully. Year 9 spent Thursday and Friday in Canberra.

UNSW Bionic Eye Research Art competition Congratulations to Julia Zhu Wei, who was runner up in this
competition to design an image of an „eye implant character‟. Julia wins a $25 book voucher.

2012 Australian Informatics Olympiad results Congratulations to the following students for achieving the
following results:
Gold - Mohammad Ishraq Huda (9); Ray Li (10); Daaron Chiu (10); Joshua Lau (11).
Silver – Kevin Shi (10); Saimurooban Muralidaran (10); Sanchit Gupta (7).
Bronze – Bobby Dey (7).

Year 10 High Resolves Our 40 students participating in this global leadership social justice program
attended the annual national conference at UNSW on Thursday. Details later.

Cadet Bivouac 35 cadets are off on their whole day walk south of Cronulla on Saturday.

Year 6 into 7 Interviews These are taking place next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I know you will
welcome all the students and their parents.

Selective Schools’ Principals’ conference Next Thursday and Friday I am at this conference in Terrigal.
