Congratulations to all our wonderful swimmers who participated in the zone swimming carnival this week. Zone carnivals are a team event and without the participation of every student it would not be possible to achieve such a wonderful outcome.

A special thank you to Mrs Kaarin McKenzie, Mr Jason Driscoll, Mr Peter Low, Ms Megan Russell, Mr David Shaw, Ms Lisa Giuffrida and Mr Greg Bruce for their fabulous support at this event.

Three fabulous swimmers became zone age champions: Jessica Guo (7), Yale Yi (8), Jason Guo (9). Michelle C Wang (11), David Tang (11), Angela Chen (10) and Hannah Qu (7) also finished in the top places of their age group.

Congratulations also to Steven Xu (12) who has been selected to represent Australia in the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad to be held in New Delhi. We wish Steven every success as he prepares for the Olympiad. This weekend David Roshan and Victor Yang will compete for a place in the Australian team for the International Biology Olympiad.

We Welcome Ms Keira Brooks to our English Faculty. Ms Brooks comes to us from Glenwood High School and is a permanent member of our staff.

Thank you to the COJR for hosting another very successful New Families BBQ. It was wonderful to meet our new families. The Year 7 Information Night is our next event and will be held on Tuesday 13th March at 6.45pm in the school hall. Faculties will showcase the curriculum that they teach to Year 7 students.

Next week (6B):

Thursday 1st March: Year 11 students will participate in their crossroads program at RYDA.

Friday 2nd March: Year 10 and Year 11 Visual Arts students will visit the Picasso Exhibition.

In Week 7: Year 10 will participate in the work experience program.
